2018 BSL Annual General Meeting Update
On behalf of the BSL Board, I’d like to thank those of you who attended Sunday’s (26 August 2018) hugely positive Annual General Meeting.
We hope that the presentation on our draft strategic and Growth/Sustainability gave you all an insight on our future plans and direction of the sport and we look forward to working together with you all to achieve our 2019 – 2023 strategic goals.
At the meeting on Sunday a vote was taken on the following motion submitted by the Glasgow City Boxing Club:
- To ensure a unified approach throughout the BSL Districts, a member club can host a club show and be granted a permit with just a probationary official in place;
Members present voted (by ballot) 14-3 in favour of the motion which will now be enforced across all BSL districts. The situation will be monitored by BSL to ensure all clubs benefitting from this motion are committed to the development of fully qualified BSL working officials.
Dick McTaggart MBE and John McDermott MBE retained their positions as Honorary Presidents and Vincent Keane was appointed as BSL President.
With the beginning of the 2018 – 2019 season upon us, I’d like to wish each and everyone of you the very best for the coming months.
