BSL Regional Female Training Sessions
Boxing Scotland is happy to announce two upcoming regional training sessions for female boxers will take place later this month.
BSL is committed to increasing opportunities for girls and women to participate in the sport and is aiming to raise the number of female competitors in Scotland.
The sessions will take place at Lochee Boxing Club (Dundee) on Saturday 17th February and Byron Boxing Club (Aberdeen) on Wednesday 21st February (Full details provided below)
The sessions are being offered free of charge and are open to participants of any standard, over the age of 10, whether they are already an active registered boxer or have just begun their involvement in the sport.
The purpose of the training is to bring female competitors together to train alongside each other and also to give them opportunities that may be limited within their own club due to a lack of female members, such as sparring.
Although both training sessions will be taking place in the North District, interested competitors from both the Eastern and Western Districts are also invited to participate.
Lochee Boxing Club – Saturday 17th February
The first session will take place in Lochee, Dundee on Saturday 17th February between 10am-2pm and will be led by Boxing Scotland Emerging Talent coach Raymond Gibson, assisted by coaches from Lochee Boxing Club.
The training will be split into two sessions and participants are advised to bring along a healthy packed lunch, in addition to outdoor shoes/clothes in case there is any training to be conducted outside.
Address: Lochee Boxing Club, 16 Wellbank Lane, Dundee, DD2 3FW.
Byron Boxing Club – Wednesday 21st February
The second session will take place at Byron Boxing Club in Aberdeen on Wednesday 21st February between 7:30pm-9:30pm and will be led by long time Boxing Scotland and AIBA certified coach Tony Kerr.
