The 2012-13 Eastern District Schoolboy, Junior and Youth Championships took place on Saturday 19th January at the Danderhall Community Centre. The Championships provide youngsters between the ages of 11 and 18 years old, the opportunity to showcase their boxing skills and claim the title of the Eastern District Champion in their age and weight category.
In the 2001 42kg Final, young John McCallum of the Bronx ABC outpointed Midlothian ABC’s Barry Hogg with an impressive display of boxing.
In the 1995 categories Connor McGregor of Clovenstone ABC beat S. Stewart of 1314 ABC to claim the 60kg title. Brandon Singh of Denbeath ABC produced some of the day’s best boxing to outpoint K. McGregor of 1314 ABC in a performance which gained the full appreciation of the crowd.
