Our second update of the day brings news of mixed fortunes for Team Scotland Boxers.
Ryan Ball was up first in the 52kg category against 2kg Giorgi Manjavidze of Georgia. Our coaches have reported that Ryan was well on his way to victory, however, had to very unfortunately retire mid way through the second round of his bout due to a niggling neck injury. A disappointing end to what had been a very promising tournament for Ryan until then.
Callum Stuart was up next in the 57kg weight category and put Armenian Gevorg Harutyunyan to the sword with a convincing unanimous victory to become the second Team Scotland boxer to progress to the quarter final stages.
