As part of the legacy around the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow some of the sports equipment will become available after the Games for transfer to be used by clubs, Trusts and community groups, providing a tangible benefit to the people of Scotland after the Games.
In partnership with Glasgow 2014, sportscotland is looking for applicants that can evidence a genuine need and an ongoing use for the equipment; leaving a real benefit to Scottish sport after the Games.
The available equipment is listed on the accompanying spread sheet which can be accessed by clicking the following link:
Much of the equipment being used at the Games is hired, supplied by the venues or will be retained in Glasgow afterwards, so only the items shown on the spread sheet are available.
The equipment listed is available free of change and delivered to the agreed delivery address you supply. However, any subsequent installation costs, pre works, assembly costs or modifications required will need to fully met by the end user. An example of this would be laying foundations for Rugby posts.
As the equipment is used, although only for a short period of time at one event, there may be superficial wear or damage. The equipment is supplied “as seen” with no recourse to sportscotland or Glasgow 2014 for damage, loss, missing parts or warranty claims.
Equipment cannot be subsequently re-sold or transferred without sportscotland’s permission.
Where the available equipment is listed has multiple quantities (e.g. Hockey balls) this is the maximum number expected to be available. Where the number available after the Games is less than the maximum then only the final quantity available or proportion thereof will be supplied.
Where applications exceed the quantity available then a lesser quantity may be offered or priority given to applications that show the greatest need or impact.
Applications will close on June 20th – forms can be accessed here:
