Nathan Shaws Them How It’s Done

July 30, 2013 By Paul Coleman

News has reached us that Team Scotland’s Nathan Shaw has beaten his Italian quarter final opponent in the 52kg Quarter final of the European Schoolboy Championships in Dublin.

Nathan defeated Augusto Buremi in a commanding fashion which resulted him being declared Unanimous winner. This secures Scotland’s first medal of the tournament and guarantees at least one Bronze medal. This continues Scotland’s recent rich vein of medal winning form.

Congratulations to Nathan on a fantastic performance.

Stephen McKenna was up against the Turk Necat Ekinci in the 50kg weight category and boxed valiantly. However it was not be for Stephen who ended up losing to a majority decision.

A full report will follow as we look forward to tomorrow when a further three Team Scotland boxers box for a semi final place.
