ABS would like to inform all ABS affiliated club coaches that they will not be able to gain entry to the Field of Play at ABS Championship events without displaying their ABS Coach Registration Badge.
ABS has endeavoured to register all affiliated club coaches since February 2011 but it is the responsibility of clubs to ensure all their coaches are fully registered with ABS and posses the ABS Coach Registration Badge below (please see example below)
With the ABS Youth and Senior Prelims less than 4 weeks away, ABS urges all clubs planning to enter boxers in this competition or future ABS championships events, to act now in order to avoid coaches being denied refused entry to the Field of Play by Event Security.
Coaches and seconds are also reminded that they must be appropriately dressed when entering the field of play at ABS Championship events. Clothing items such as denim jeans are not acceptable and may lead to coaches/seconds being refused entry into the field of play.
The Coach Registration Procedure is as follows:
– Coach reads, signs and dates the ABS Code of Conduct;
– Coach completes the ABS Coach Badge Application Form and gives both documents to their Club Secretary
– Club Secretary sends both completed documents to the ABS office along with the £5 processing fee and a stamped, addressed envelope for the return of the Coach Registration Badge
Provided ABS already has a completed ABS Application Form for the coach, they have already gone through satisfactory PVG/Disclosure checks with an ABS Signatory and have followed steps 1, 2, & 3 above, ABS aims to return their Coach Registration Badge within two weeks of receiving the relevant documents.
