ABS Development Squad Update

January 31, 2012 By Paul Coleman

Danny Lee, ABS Development Squad Head of Coaching and Selection, provides his latest update:

There was a great turnout at the latest Development Squad training held at the Forgewood Gym, Motherwell on Saturday 28 January 2012, despite the fact the ABS Intermediate Championships were being held simultaneously and a stones throw away at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

A total of forty two boxers attended two the two sessions that were put on for our boxers born 2000 – 1996. This was despite there being ten Development boxers competing in the Intermediates, five boxers phoned in sick an one boxer being assessed for the G.B. Development Programme in Sheffield. The overall feedback from the boxers was the sessions were demanding, yet immensely enjoyable.

Further Development Squad training will take place on 11 February 2012 and this will be regional. Start times and venues for each regional training session will be posted on the website in due course.
