ABS Training for Open Class Youths and Seniors

September 21, 2011 By Paul Coleman

aston brown

ABS will be holding a series of training sessions and assessments for open class boxers born 1994 and upwards.

Boxers will be assessed for up and coming tournaments such as the 2011 GB Senior Championships on 11-12 November 2011 and the Tammer Tournament in Finland 24-27 November 2011.

ABS will also be sending a squad of Youth boxers to Sheffield to be assessed for the GB Development programme that will be held over two weekends in November 2011 (4th-6th and 18th-20th). The GB coaching team will assess boxers between the ages of 15 and 18.

These are all fantastic opportunities for our Youth and Senior boxers to gain International experience and progress further. However, the only way boxers can be considered for selection is by attending the following training sessions for assessment:

Western District Boxers – Saturday 24 September 2011 between 12pm – 3pm – Springhill ABC Gym, Kirk Road, Shotts, ML7 5ET
Eastern District Boxers – Sunday 25 September 2011 between 10am -12pm – Leith Victoria AAC Gym, 28 Academy Street, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 7EF
Northern District Boxers – Saturday 01 October 2011 between 10am – 12pm – Byron ABC Gym, Northfield Community Centre, Byron Square, Aberdeen, AB16 7LL

These sessions will provide a fantastic catalyst for boxers to put themselves in the shop window as the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow approach.
