AIBA Boxing Scotland Coaching Course, Glasgow

November 14, 2013 By Paul Coleman

AIBA Boxing Scotland Coaching Course, Palace of Art, Glasgow

We are delighted to announce the first ever AIBA coaching course to be delivered in the UK is now well underway at the Palace of Arts in Bellahouston, Glasgow.

No fewer than 14 Boxing Scotland coaches are participating in the 1 & 2 star course and this is the first time ever that Scottish coaches have been assessed.

The course itself comprises a mixture of theory and practical elements, where coaches will study and learn the different methodology on technical and tactical elements of the training process.

Emphasis will also be put on the new AIBA Technical rules and scoring system, thus ensuring the coaches understand the rules in order to understand what they need to teach the boxers. The course will also cover both daily and annual training programming, with the coaches delivering practical elements of their own training programmes.

Boxing Scotland would like to thank Christy Halbert, the AIBA tutor for delivering the course and travelling all the way from the USA to do so.
