Boxing Scotland is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. John MacPherson as a director.
Born and brought up in Inverness, John is an advocate at the Scottish bar specialising in child and family law. Before training as a lawyer, he was a busy community pharmacist in the north-east of Scotland. After qualifying he worked for one of the world’s largest law firms as a corporate and projects solicitor.
John said “Becoming involved in boxing has been one of the most satisfying things I have ever done and I am very proud to have been invited to serve on the board of Boxing Scotland. This is an exciting time for boxing in this country especially as we count down towards the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. I was delighted to accept the invitation to contribute to the work of Richard Thomas and the board of Boxing Scotland as they build on the solid foundation they have laid down for our sport since 2009.”
John’s appointment as a Director will further strengthen our position in terms of Governance and will provide valuable experience to allow us to continue to progress as an organisation.
