THE BIGGEST EVER Elite Championships Finals night will be held later this month after a huge number of entries were received for the premier event in Scottish amateur boxing.
The Boxing Scotland Elite Golden Gloves Championships is currently scheduled to have 19 Elite Finals, the most ever, with 12 Male and 7 Female Finals set to take place on Saturday 22nd March 2025.
That is after the biggest number of entries was received in eight years for the Open Class senior competition, with the largest entry since 2017 when the likes of Lee McGregor, Nathaniel Collins and Sean Lazzerini were crowned Boxing Scotland Elite champion.
Much like 2017, that event took place just over a year before a Commonwealth Games was held, with Glasgow set to play host to a home edition of the Games in 2026.
The draw for the Elite Championships was completed on Sunday morning with representatives from the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts present, before the action kicked off with a Round of 32 in a stacked Male Light-Middleweight category.
A further three rounds of preliminary bouts will take place on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, as it builds up to the showpiece event in the Scottish amateur boxing calendar on March 22nd – the Boxing Scotland Elite Golden Gloves Finals.

Please note, as like last season’s Elite Championships, seeding was used for the 2025 Boxing Scotland Elite Golden Gloves Championships.
The seeding criteria was as follows;
1) Current members of Boxing Scotland Elite Boxer Group (EBG) or GB Boxing Squad.
OR
2) Finalist from 2024 Boxing Scotland Elite Golden Gloves Championships competing at the same weight.
3) Only for weight categories which have at least 4 boxers entered.
