Boxing Scotland Golden Gloves Schools & Junior Championships – Entries Open

January 24, 2023 By Ben Holme

BOXING Scotland are delighted to unveil plans for our upcoming Open Championships, which will take place later year.

Following on from our rebranding of the Novice and Intermediate Championships to become known as Development Championships, moving forward the Open events will be known as Golden Gloves Championships.

All winners of these events will be gifted a pair of Golden Boxing Scotland Gloves as a symbol of excellence for being Scottish champion in their age and weight category in the country, in addition to receiving a winners medal.

From this season forward Boxing Scotland will have two styles of Championships;

1) Development Championships – Competitions where boxers can only box opponents with a similar number of bouts and experience.

2) Golden Gloves Championships –Competitions where there are no restrictions on the prior number of bouts that boxers must have had. However, boxers must be able to compete against opponents of all experience levels.

With this in mind, we are pleased to open up entries for the first Boxing Scotland Golden Gloves School and Junior Championships.

This event will take place across the weekends of 18th & 19th and the 25th & 26th of February 2023 at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell.

This competition is open for boxers born in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Please note, entries for this competition will close on Monday 6th February at Noon.

It is the responsibility of club coaches to ensure that their boxers have the necessary experience to compete in this event.
