Cashback Club Assessments – North Glasgow ABC and Livingston ABC

November 8, 2012 By Paul Coleman

Cashback Academy boxers from both North Glasgow ABC and Livingston ABC were put through their paces this week (06th & 07th Nov 2012) during their Phase 1 Academy assessment.

No fewer than 50 aspiring Academy boxers showed off their talents during the assessments, displaying the fundamental skills required for boxing starting with stance, guard and footwork along with a selection of punches and defences.

A big thank-you must go to the coaches of both clubs, John Reid (North Glasgow ABC) and John Macaulay (Livingston ABC) for their dedication and hard work they have put into the Academy sessions so far.

Now with over 30 clubs involved in the Cashback Academy programme, participation in our sport looks set to grow significantly moving into 2013.

As could be seen with the huge number of entrants for the 2012 ABS Novice Championships, the PR and advertising surrounding the programme (along with the Academy boxers graduating!) is undoubtedly playing a big part in reaching out to the wider public.

To help the Cashback Academy and the sport of boxing grow, any clubs interested in participating in the programme please contact ABS Cashback Coordinator Craig McEvoy on 07974 302782 for further information.

Getting started is easier than you probably think!
