All boxers had their weights recorded on arrival and then warmed up using a 15 minute skipping target.
The youth boxers again had the opportunity to spar with the senior elite boxers. This proved to be a very worthwhile exercise for the young boxers as they prepare for the World Youth Championships in Baku. Kieran Smith, Darren McGinn and Aston Brown did some quality sparring. Conor Law and Bryce Stewart sparred with Joe Ham and Mick Roberts there was some clever boxing and ringcraft on show and once again proved to be very beneficial for both these lads.
The other senior elite boxers concentrated on bag work, pad work and technique. The boxers all appeared to be sharper on the pads and some of the more experienced lads movement and techniques look to be improving. The boxers listened and took on board any advice given to them. The boxers in this Senior Elite squad are all keen to learn and good lads to work with. Their attitude to training is always very positive and can only lead to improvement.
The boxers then all took part in a cardio workout the training was rounded off with a long stretching and warm down session.
The teams were briefed on what would be expected of them in terms of conduct and behaviour as well as boxing performance on their forthcoming trips. Times for meeting at airport etc for the Gee Bee Team were also double checked.
