As previously communicated, our Novice Championships continues to lead the way in terms of the amount entries it receives.
Our 2014 Novices have reached the 400 mark for the second time in our history. This is a truly remarkable achievement in what, for many, will be the first National Championship event and only Scottish Novice Boxing Championship that boxers will compete in.
As always, with a competition of this size and scale, Boxing Scotland is seeking to recruit volunteers and officials from our member clubs to run the event safely and successfully.
If your club has boxers competing and has not already pledged assistance at this event, please contact James Docherty at james.docherty@boxingscotland.org with your name, club, role(s) you are can carry out and which day(s) you will be available during the championships – 18,19, 25 and 26 October 2014
We would like to extend a particular appeal to those clubs with eight or over eight entries (including double) in this years championships which are:
The Barn;
Lochend;
Inverness;
Leith Victoria;
Forgewood;
Forsyths;
Dennistoun McNair;
Kelvin;
Highland BA
Glasgow Phoenix.
Additionally, anyone not registered with a Boxing Scotland affiliate club wishing to volunteer at this event should contact the Boxing Scotland office at events@boxingscotland.org with their name, age, contact details, relevant experience and availability for the championships over one or both weekends.
Our Novice championships are where the dreams and journeys of many boxers begin on the only pathway that can lead all the way up to the Commonwealth and Olympic Games level representation.
Please help us in delivering yet another fantastic event and volunteer to help at our 2014 Novice Championships.
