Dear Members,
Please see the latest update of information the Risk Management Tool which should be used in conjunction with the BOXING SCOTLAND: COVID-19 Guidance for returning to boxing activities paper. This guidance forms part of the first phase of the planned transition out of lockdown for boxing.
We want to assure our members that all guidance and information released by Boxing Scotland has been developed in line with current Scottish Government and Public Health guidelines.
This is why occasionally, there may be a slight delay between the Government advice and guidance released by Boxing Scotland. We must ensure our advice is correct in the interest of public safety. The document shall continue to remain fluid and will be updated as further phased guidance is released by the Scottish Government regarding COVID-19.
Please also be aware, there may be a period when restrictions could be tightened again on the advice of the Scottish Government. This is why we must continually stay up to date with the latest guidance issued and not rush back to the sport faster than is permissible. We are all on this journey together.
That said, there are a number of boxing activities that can be undertaken which are consistent with the new route map moving out of lockdown, where the local environment allows, but only where it is safe to do so.
These guidelines set out how boxing activity can be enjoyed in a way that is in line with Scottish Government advice and helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They include measures to limit hand to shared surface contact and minimise unnecessary interactions with others.
Please know that we are, and will continue to work behind the scenes in order to deliver the most reliable and up to date guidance possible for our membership. Which must also carefully consider public safety during our transition from Lockdown.
Stay safe and best regards
Fraser Walker
