Entry forms released for 2022-23 Boxing Scotland Development Championships

September 30, 2022 By Ben Holme

BOXING Scotland are delighted to release the entry forms for our first National Championships of the 2022-23 season.

Entry forms for the Development A & B Championships, formerly known as the Novice Championships, are now live.

The entry requirements are as follows;

Development A – 0-3 Bouts

Development B – 4-6 Bouts

This competition will be held on the weekends of 4th/5th/6th and 11th/12th/13th of November 2022 at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell.

Boxing Scotland is looking forward to another fantastic event following last season’s record-breaking competition, which was the largest ever run in Scotland with almost 800 entries and was the biggest in the UK.

We will be continuing to implement the very successful measures that were introduced for last season’s Championships, whereby the schedule and draw are published well in advance of the event to ensure clubs know when their boxers will be competing, with boxers only needing to weigh-in on days that they box.

Entry fees will be priced at the same as the 2021-22 season at £20 per boxer, with entries closing at Noon on Friday 14th October 2022. There will no extensions to this deadline.

ENTRIES INFORMATION:

Competition Dates;

Week One – Friday 4th, Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November 2022

Week Two – Friday 11th, Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th November 2022

It is the responsibility of the Club submitting the form to ensure the details are correct. Boxers will not be moved categories due to an error at the time of submission. Any entries received which are not fully complete will not be entered into the event.

Boxers cannot enter into categories not specified on the entry form.

All entries must be accompanied by an Entry payment of £20.

A Boxer can only enter to compete in one weight category.  Where a boxer has been entered and is a single entry in that age and weight category, the club will be given the opportunity to have the boxer moved one weight classification up or down once the Entries have closed. Where a boxer has entered in a weight category that has at least one other entry they will remain in their chosen weight category.

Entries should only come from the club Secretary, not individual boxers/parents, and will only be accepted from a recognised club e-mail address.

NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 12:00HRS ON FRIDAY 14TH OCTOBER 2022.

ALL PAYMENTS MUST ALSO BE RECEIVED BY THIS DATE.

Boxing Scotland DOES NOT guarantee boxers entered will compete at the Championships.  This is dependent on the number of entries received, the draw, in addition to the boxers attending the weigh-in and making their championship weight.

NOTE: In order to guarantee that boxers/coaches have the necessary registration books/coaching badges processed and returned to them in time for the Championships, paperwork must be received in to the Boxing Scotland Office at least 14 WORKING DAYS before the Championships commence, i.e. Friday 14th October 2022. No books/badges will be distributed at the Championships.
