August 27, 2013 By Paul Coleman

Boxing Scotland is delighted to post the following advertisement, giving the opportunity for successful applicants to deliver workshops to Boxing Scotland registered coaches in order to further develop coaches understanding of working with young people.

Education Through CashBack – Recruitment of Freelance Trainers

Programme Background

Education Through CashBack (ETC) is a Scottish Sports Futures programme, developed and delivered in partnership with Youth Scotland, that aims to further develop sports and physical activity coaches understanding of working with and engaging young people with a view to maximising the impact of community provision. In particular ETC will nurture a deeper understanding of the developmental value of sport and physical activity when working with often challenging young people with varying needs and interests. Training, with complementary resources, will equip staff with the skills, understanding and confidence to deliver activities effectively to a range of young people in a range of settings.

The training and development opportunities offered through ETC will build a hybrid youth work and physical activity skill set, enabling workers from across the CashBack family to effectively engage with young people from a broad spectrum and deliver mental, physical, personal and social benefits through sport.

Scottish Sports Futures are recruiting a team of freelance trainers to deliver the ETC training modules to coaches across the country. It is expected that trainers will deliver one to three one day sessions per month until the end of July 2014 when the programme will be reviewed. The content of these training sessions has been compiled by Scottish Sports Futures in partnership with Youth Scotland and all trainers will be provided with a full induction prior to commencing their delivery duties. Content is designed to be a mix of theory and practical with a view to engaging the target audience and provide useful delivery ideas.

Please find further details of the role and person specification below along with application instructions.

Delivery will take place across Scotland’s 32 local authorities and in the first instance will be focused on the coaching staff of Boxing Scotland, Basketball Scotland, Scottish Football Association, Scottish Rugby Union and Scottish Sports Futures.
