First result from Belgrade Winner Tournament

May 2, 2012 By Paul Coleman

Charlie Flynn has just finished his bout against Australian, Olympic qualifier, Luke Jackson, and has narrowly lost out in a high scoring contest.

After a very tight first round, Charlie found himself 5-4 down to the Australian, but was boxing brilliantly.

Charlie didn’t let this get to him him, and fought back in the second round, to finish the round at 9-9.

After the third round, everyone in the Scotland camp though he had done enough to take the decision by one or two points, but were surprised when the decision went to the Australian by 14-13.

An excellent performance, none the less from Charlie, and hopefully one he can build on for the upcoming GB Championships.

Charlie recieved glowing praise from National Coach Mike Keane for his performance, and fully deserves it.

Well done Charlie.
