Josh Taylor will box his Quarter Final today in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament Trabzon 2012 in Turkey.
See update below from ABS National Coach Mike Keane:
This is the day of reckoning for Josh. He will box this afternoon around 1.15pm uk time, in the Blue corner against a very tough and durable Armenian Vladimir Sarukhanyan. Josh is certainly capable of beating the Armenian, but he will have to be at his best and try not to get drawn into a fight. Josh will be looking to box at long range and catch the Armanian with clean shots. This will be by far Josh’s biggest bout of his career with the possibility of the Olympic Games only one contest away. (If Sam Maxwell also wins his bout, there would be a box off between Sam and Josh, unless one of the them won Gold.) Josh is in fine form, had a good nights sleep and feels really good going into todays contest.
I’m sure the whole of Scottish Boxing will wish Josh all the best.
I will update you as the bout starts and try to get some good pictures as well.
Cheers
Mike.
