Boxing Scotland Will be hosting a Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop on Thursday 28th March 2019 starting at 1830 through to 2130.
Safeguarding and Protecting Children
This three-hour workshop is suitable for coaches and volunteers who will come into contact with children.
The workshop explores the code of conduct for those in contact with children and provides basic information on recognising child abuse and responding to concerns. It is aimed primarily at coaches and Child Protection Officers. Outcomes for attendees include increasing awareness, helping recognise the signs of abuse and poor practice and helping to deal sensitively and effectively with issues that arise.
In order to keep knowledge up to date in this area, individuals should follow this up with either the SPC2 or refresh with SPC every two to three years.
The course will be held at the National High-Performance Centre, Bridgeton Cross, Orr Street, Glasgow, G40 2QH.

The course will be limited to 15 and will be on a first come first served basis. so to avoid disappointment book early. To secure a place in the course payments must be received by 1500 Friday 22nd March 19.
A reminder to all coaches that for the 2019/20 season each Coach re-registration must hold an in date Safeguarding Certificate.
Cost of the course will be £15 per individual. Payment can be made either by Cheque to Boxing Scotland Ltd or bacs transfer to Boxing Scotland. If you or clubs intend to pay via bacs transfer please reference with your name of club or individual.
