TEAM Scotland are returning home from Argentina today after a two-week camp in Buenos Aires.
Eight Youth boxers made the trip, the first time a Scottish team had ever travelled to South America.
The camp concluded with two Dual internationals with boxers from the Argentinian National Boxing Team.
Each country claimed five victories across 10 bouts, although in truth Scotland were extremely unlucky not to have had their hand raised in at least a couple more of the contests.
Boxing Scotland Performance Director and National Coach Craig McEvoy said: “What an excellent camp it has been.
“Our eight Youth boxers had on average around 43-44 very, very challenging rounds of sparring, and with the heat in the gym it has also been very uncomfortable conditions.
“It was a typical South American style and the opponents have been in their face, setting a fast pace and always looking to finish the exchanges.
“But for our boxers it has been an absolutely fantastic experience.”
