ABS would like to inform all members that the sportscotland Institute of Sport is fully committed to ensuring the the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games will be clean and drug free. To support this commitment, a new exciting partnership has been established between the sportscotland Institute of Sport and UK Anti Doping. As a result, sportscotland has agreed to fund the recruitment and deployment of a team of National Trainers (on a contract of services basis) who will deliver the UK Anti Doping curriculum to 2014 athletes and support personnel across Scotland.
The team of National Trainers will be freely available to Scottish Governing Bodies (SGB’s) to deliver Education sessions to priority athletes who are long listed for either the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The funding will allow SGB’s to enhance the delivery of education programmes with a service that is sustainable and local to the ABS performance programme needs. Access for the support will be available for 2014 sports that have completed a quick and simple nomination form which will then allow one of the Trainers to contact the performance lead within boxing and arrange the logistics for the Education sessions.
Please see the attached Information Sheet and Application Form for further information.
