The latest news from Delhi via Mike Keane is that Josh Taylor will be boxing England’s Tom Stalker on Wednesday at approximately 3.30pm Indian time and Callum Johnson will box Northern Ireland’s Thomas McCarthy at approximately 4.00pm Indian time. Tomorrow will be a very a big day for Scotland and everyone will be rooting for both Josh and Callum as they attempt to win gold out in Delhi.
The performance of the boxing team could potentially be one of the best since the 1962 Commonwealth Games in Perth Australia when Scotland last won two Gold medals in a single Games. In comparision the last times the team won three medals in one games was at the 1994 Victoria Games with 1 gold, silver and bronze medal and in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur when the team won 1 gold and 2 bronze.
Our very best wishes to Josh and Callum.
