It has come to the attention of ABS a number of clubs travelling to contests outwith Scotland are not reporting results back to the ABS Office.
This is of major concern because there have been a number of cases where boxers have been KO’d and given a rest period. ABS has not been informed and this information is only coming to light through the boxer re-registration process which is a serious matter.
ABS must be given (within 7 days) all results relating to contests outwith the Scotland especially when the health and safety of the boxer is concerned.
When a boxer is given a rest period the following procedure must be adhered to;
1 – The Medical Suspension form (SME-3) is requested from the ABS Office by the relevant club.
2 – The SME-3 is completed by a doctor to ensure the boxer is fit to resume boxing.
3 – When this is done, the SME-2 registration book is returned to the club and the boxer can resume boxing.
We would kindly ask that all clubs comply with this request. Please note SME2 registration books will not be returned until the SME-3 card is satisfactorily completed and returned to the ABS office in Livingston.
