After a scare at Vienna Airport Customs in Austria, where the boxers were being refused entry due to a law that stops under 18s travelling without parental permission, ABS communicated with Customs officials, while the flight was held on the stand.
The issue was quickly resolved and the Youth squad arrived safely in Mostar, Bosnia for the tournament. Coach Mike Keane was tearing his hair out during the whole episode, in the worry the squad would miss the flight !!
After some confusion surrounding weight categories at the draw, our boxers now know who their opponents will be.
